Sean Doorley also holds an Auctioneers license for the last two years. He provides a personal service in the real estate sector, when most activists are aligned to national and international groups.

"I do not believe it is in the interest of either sellers or purchasers the way the current market trends are dictating. Speaking of property in the Birr area, I am always taken aback at the number of non-locals who decide to settle in the town and its surrounds.

I do believe we have a great quality of life here including pubs, restaurants, Golf club, Rugby and GAA Clubs to the walks in the Slieve Blooms, swimming pool, the new leisure centre at the County Arms hotel, the Birr Castle Demesne, the Birr Theatre and Arts centre to mention but a few.

It was nice to see my namesake Tom Doorley (Irish Times) recently mention, in glowing terms, the quality of food and service in the Riverbank and Emma's coffee shop. Diarmuid Gavin's TV holiday programme where he highlighted the many amenities on offer in Birr.
